A Statement on itch.io and adult games

Recently it has come to my attention that many adult game creators on this platform have been put in a position where they can no longer sell their games on itch.io.  This is due to the fact that they are forced to sell their games on itch.io by enabling "direct payments", instead of bulk payments through itch.io. As all major payment processors available on itch.io (Paypal, Stripe) have clauses preventing the sale of adult content, this has effectively removed itch.io as an income option for adult game developers.

If I'm being honest this doesn't affect me in any major way. Stuck in Sutton as of right now is more of a hobby project more than anything. If you are interested in supporting Stuck in Sutton financially, I'd have to recommend that you go to Patreon from now on.  I will still be maintaining Stuck in Sutton on itch.io for the foreseeable future, so you'll still be able to play or download the game.

That being said, just because this doesn't affect me,  doesn't mean that other creators are so lucky. Please consider supporting other artists if you can. This has been a major rug pull for a lot of developers in the adult gaming industry and I'm certain a lot of people have lost a significant chunk of their income due to these changes. Finally, I implore you to contact itch.io and let them know how unfair these changes are.  Less than a year ago, itch.io was talking about how it was a safe haven for adult games, but it seems that since then, they've gotten cold feet.
