Devlog #5 – Bottoms Up


One of the new features I'm pushing in v0.3 is the new drunkenness system and I wanted to do a bit more of a deep dive. Getting drunk in Stuck in Sutton will now have randomized outcomes.

These outcomes will be somewhat dependent on your location. For example, getting drunk at the Pink Lounge will lead to Larry (or maybe Barry) leading you outside and dealing with your antics, but getting drunk at McCall's Bar might have you in the hands of the most handsome man in town. Well, handsome to your drunken eyes anyway.

As you might expect, many of these outcomes can have negative effects, from puking on yourself to taking a nap during the day, or even encountering the dreaded Foggy Man. The best way to avoid these is to not drink too much, but what's the fun in that?

I'm still aiming to get v0.3 out by the end of April but will admit that I still have a lot to do if I am to meet that goal. Some of the things I have planned will require a fair amount of testing and as I said in the last Devlog, I want to avoid a similar situation to what I had with v0.2.
